(1) According to Rule 115, if an explanation is sought from the concerned police officer after the completion of the investigation, if he does not give an explanation within the specified time or if the explanation given by him is not satisfactory, the punishing officer may impose punishment and a copy of the punishment order shall be given to such employee.
(2) If the police officer who is to be punished is not in touch, the order of punishment as per sub-rule (1) shall be delivered to his family member in accordance with the prevailing law. The concerned person cannot later claim that he did not receive the information due to such submission. If the family member does not understand or if no member of the family is found, such punishment order should be publicly posted at his home address in the format as per Schedule-15. After submitting or serving such order in any of the mentioned ways, a copy of the receipt or payment or receipt shall be attached to the relevant file.
